Babies & Toddlers

Not all aches and pains at any age are simply growing pains, but a sign that something isn’t right.

We’re ready with a gentle approach to help you and your little ones.

A newborn chiropractic check-up following birth can help pin-point potential problems and thus help ease the transition from life inside the womb to the outside world.

Stresses and strains from pregnancy or the birthing process may result in an unsettled baby who then displays characteristics of one of the many infantile complaints. This may then result in difficulties in feeding, winding, fussiness and sleeping.

A chiropractic examination which includes growth and neuro-developmental examination is able to determine if the condition is due to a spinal strain and nervous system dysfunction or another cause.

Relieving any physical strains with gentle chiropractic treatment or cranial therapy can be very helpful and relaxing. Find out more about our gentle technique, NIP, which uses pressure equal to the force which used when testing a ripe tomato, or cranial therapy.

Toddlers fall about 38 times per day. Often they just get up and get on with it. However if an injury occurs and goes undetected problems can surface later in life as an adult.

This time of life is also when children’s brain are developing at their fastest as they learn numerous new skills. It is the time when they learn to crawl, walk, run and communicate and are keen to explore their environment and to interact socially.

Postural imbalances and strains may have an impact on development and it is therefore advisable to monitor the progress of your toddler’s growth and developmental milestones. Early detection and correction of major physical mishaps or developmental lag may prevent problems developing in future.
