Lara Cawthra
Lara has been in practice since 1996. She is one of the few chiropractors in the UK with formal training in Paediatrics. She has lectured occasionally at McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Chiropractic Paediatrics, and for the Royal College of Chiropractors helping other chiropractors with this complex subject.
As many young children seemed to have postural difficulties that carried on into adulthood, Lara’s interest in Paediatrics grew. This led her to embark on a rigorous three year Master of Chiropractic Paediatric course. Lara completed the Master of Chiropractic Paediatric degree in 2003, making her one of the few chiropractors in the UK with formal training in chiropractic paediatrics. Further developing her understanding and skills in neuromotor development, Lara has undertaken extensive study in primitive/primary reflex integration and uses the Masgutova method (MNRI).
Lara also recognises that diet, nutrition and the environment has a major role to play in the healthy person and has undertaken further postgraduate study in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (NEM). She is a member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and an affiliate member of BANT (British Association of Nutritional Therapists).
Lara is registered with the General Chiropractic Council, a member of the Scottish Chiropractic Association, a member of the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia, and a Fellow and former chair of the Pregnancy and Paediatrics Specialist Faculty of the Royal College of Chiropractors.
